A privileged enclave from which to enjoy majestic sunsets over the Atlantic Ocean is El Risco de Faneque, which, with its 1,027 metres, represents one of the highest cliffs in the world and the second highest in Europe, standing out against the steep coast of the northwest of the island of Gran Canaria.

Artenara, a paradise to live in its entirety.

To approach Artenara, is to approach a mountain village in all its essence and with all its intensity. The mountain in Artenara is not only landscape. It is its sign of identity, the element that has forged its idiosyncrasy, the character of its people, its way of life, its culture, its traditions. And none of this should be lost on the visitor who comes to the island municipality this year. Because only in this way will they understand and enjoy to the full what it means to have a paradise on an island.
Amongst the treasures we have, there are areas of great natural value, such as the Tamadaba Nature Reserve which we share with Agaete and which forms part of the Gran Canaria Biosphere Reserve.

The whole municipality can be comfortably travelled along the various paths that run through it.

The hiker will find in Artenara a real paradise.
